This one Week is proving to be One of the Most Peaceful and extraordinary Weeks the World Has Seen in Years
It all began with a quiet but powerful moment: the newly elected Pope gave his very first address and made a heartfelt appeal for “…a miracle of global peace…”
And somehow things began to happen:
In just a few days, one after the other, major global tensions began to ease.
Here’s what happened just this week:
India and Pakistan, two countries with decades of conflict between them, pulled back from the brink of war and agreed to a ceasefire.
The United States and China, in a surprise meeting in Switzerland, reached a historic deal both countries will reduce their tariffs by a staggering 114%.
The Kurdish military group (PKK) announced it will disarm and dissolve, finally ending a 40-year conflict with Turkey that has taken more than 40,000 lives.
The US and Iran, after years of tension, met and agreed to begin working on ways to resolve their differences peacefully.
In Ukraine, several European leaders gathered and delivered Russia a firm ultimatum: either agree to a 30-day ceasefire, or face massive new sanctions.
And just last night, President Putin offered to meet President Zelensky for a direct peace talk in Turkey a move that even Trump publicly encouraged Zelensky to accept.
And in the Sahel region, Burkina Faso, with the backing of Russia and China, carried out a decisive airstrike that eliminated dozens of terrorists, bringing a strong blow to insurgents destabilizing West Africa. The MAIN stronghold housing all the supply chain of the Fulani Janjaweed cells perpetrating terrorism, kidnapping, organ harvesting, cattle rustling, massive communal killings etc around the subsahara. Has been destroyed completely and recently.
All of this… in one single week.
We don’t know what exactly triggered this wave of peace, could it be the Pope’s prayer 🤷🏽♀️
However, one thing is clear:
This week has given the world something – A rare hope – A sign that peace isn’t as far away as it seemed.
A peaceful world means a progressive world 🕊️
