Achievements of Captain Ibrahim Traoré

Since assuming office in 2022, Captain Ibrahim Traoré has led a bold push for national sovereignty, economic independence, and African unity. He oversaw the launch of Burkina Faso’s first gold refinery and a tomato-processing plant to reduce raw exports and boost local production. He revived the Faso Fani textile factory, promoting local industry and job creation.

Traoré strengthened infrastructure by commissioning a cement plant, upgrading airports, and distributing agricultural machinery and inputs to farmers. He also established a postal bank to enhance financial access and launched a major housing initiative for displaced citizens.

On the regional front, he co-founded the Alliance of Sahel States with Mali and Niger to promote mutual defense, economic integration, and a joint currency plan. Traoré also expelled foreign troops to reinforce national control over security, while promoting cultural pride by removing colonial-era symbols and prioritizing local languages in schools.
